Open race track in Taiwan.

Did you know that there is a race track for motorcycles and cars that is open to the public in Taiwan.

The track is in Longtan (next to Guansi)

All you have to bring is, your scooter, car, motorcycle and safty equipement like, a helmet and protective gear.

The price?  150$nt per 30 minutes session.

You don’t have to be a pro driver to get on the track. In fact, a lot of people go there to practice their driving skills in a safe place. No blue truck coming out of blind curves. ;)

Here is an example of people who went for the first time.

Fun at the race track. Biking and drifting from iix23 on Vimeo.

Sky lanterns in Taiwan (Lantern festival)

Lantern festival is a very big festival in Taiwan.

The 18th day of the 5th lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival because the first lunar month is called yuan-month and in the ancient times people called night Xiao. The 15th day is the first night to see a full moon. So the day is also called Yuan Xiao Festival in China. According to the Chinese tradition, at the very beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, people will try to solve the puzzles on the lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere.
